Digital Citizenship is "a person who develops the skills and knowledge to effectively use the Internet and other digital technology, especially in order to participate responsibly in social and civic activities" (Dictionary.com, 2018)
Why is Digital Citizenship necessary in school?
Digital Citizenship provides the necessary guidance to students who are given increasing access to technology both in their education and at home to ensure they are safe, respectful and are able to meaningfully contribute to our world. As educators we are responsible for teaching students these skills as it is becoming highly integrated into the classroom and curriculum.
